Terrie started working in this end-of-life journey in 1989 at Hospice of Metro Denver, now known as Denver Hospice. She served for 13 years as the Office Manager and later transitioned to the education and outreach department, where she educated the African American community on end-of-life care. She continued her work at Montgomery Hospice and Prince Georges Hospice for more than 21 years.
With over 30 years of experience in end-of-life care, Terrie has worn many hats—Community Outreach, Volunteer Coordination, Facilities Management—and most recently, she became a Certified End-of-Life Doula.
She is also a Senior Certified Advance Care Planning Facilitator for Heart Tones, working alongside Dr. Gloria Anderson to educate communities across the country. Terrie currently serves as the Secretary on the Heart Tones board.
As a pastor’s daughter, she views her work as a sacred ministry, connecting with and serving others during their most vulnerable moments. She finds joy in working with seniors and serving her local community.
In her spare time, Terrie is an active church member—serving as an Usher and participating in the Culinary Ministry. She enjoys running, reading, crocheting, gardening, and spending cherished time with family and friends. She is happily married to her husband Otis Taylor and is a proud mother to her daughter, Tamera Rose.
